Pet wellness care is one of the most important things you can do for your pet’s health. Your pet will receive a comprehensive wellness exam annually with your VIP Wellness Private Membership at NAVHC. Our VIP Wellness Private veterinarian will evaluate your pet’s health and address any concerns you may have.
Prevention is Key For a Healthy Pet
Prevention is vital to ensure that your pet stays healthy for years to come. VIP wellness exams enable us to spot any concerns before they become illnesses or problems. As with many diseases and conditions, the earlier they are detected, the better the overall outcome. That’s why it is essential for your pet to be seen on an annual basis for a Wellness exam.
Your pet will receive a comprehensive annual physical exam that is beyond typical, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests. We’ll discuss your pet’s diet, exercise, healthy body weight, and assess their overall body condition. You and your VIP Wellness Private Membership veterinarian will use these test results to create a customized wellness plan to help your pet live a long healthy life.
Screening helps to detect early signs of disease, which leads to better treatment outcomes if any diseases/conditions are present.
Recommended Routine Screens:
- Annual Blood Screening (Chemistry, CBC)
- 4DX – Canine ( Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Anaplasma, Ehrlichia)
- Fecal Analysis (Intestinal Parasite Screening)
We offer a wide range of advanced diagnostics with same day results.
- Biochemical Screening
- Complete Blood Counts
- Skin Cytology
- Ear Cytology
- Heartworm Screening
- Zinc Sulfate Fecal Flotation
- Lyme Disease, E.Cani, Anaplasma Exposure Screening
- FeLV / FIV Screening
Pets with routine dental care live longer, so regular dental exams are important. We’ll address any disease and go over dental care options with you.
Vaccines are fundamental to good health.
Adult animals that have been vaccinated previously are eligible, in lieu of revaccination, to test their blood for antibody titers instead. We take a blood sample and submit for laboratory testing assessing the current antibody levels. They reflect if your pet has adequate antibody levels to protect them in the face of that particular disease.
The World Small Animal Veterinary Guidelines for vaccinating dogs and cats state that, “The principles of ‘evidence-based veterinary medicine’ suggest that testing for antibody titers can be better than administering vaccine boosters.’” Some dogs and cats maintain antibodies for their entire lives to common diseases they are vaccinated against. Rabies vaccines are in their own category, as it is 100% fatal in pets and humans and regulated by law.
We offer the following Titer tests:
- DHPP (Distemper)
- Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
- FVRCP (Distemper)
- FeLV (Feline Leukemia)
Heartworm disease, fleas, ticks, and intestinal worms are all potential risks to your pet’s health. Additionally, fleas, ticks, and intestinal parasites are potential vectors for zoonotic (a disease that can be potentially transmitted to humans) disease.
Fleas can harbor and potentially transmit tapeworms, Bartonellosis (Cat Scratch Fever), and rarely, the bubonic plague to humans.
Ticks can potentially transmit Lyme, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Ehrlichiosis, Babesiosis, and Anaplasmosis to name a few.
Intestinal parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, and Giardia, are a few examples of intestinal parasites that also have the potential for zoonotic disease. The immunocompromised, the very young, and the esteemed senior are especially at risk.
**Please Consult the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website for all details about potentially zoonotic diseases.
